Remember this fun post from last year when I froze strawberry milk hearts? Chloë looooved it (and her friend was pretty impressed, too!).
I wanted to do something for her again this year...something simple, but totally fun and sweet for Valentine's Day.
A little Pinterest inspiration and I'm in business! I mean, put french toast and strawberries together, then go nuts and make them both heart-shaped, you've got a recipe for greatness (as in, your kids are gonna think you're the greatest mama ever)!
Ingredients:
4 slices of Hawaiian bread
2 eggs
1 tbs milk
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp sugar
Filling:
2 oz cream cheese
2 tsp brown sugar
1/4 tsp vanilla
Topping:
strawberries
powder sugar
maple or strawberry syrup
You can find the original recipe at Will Cook for Smiles. I used Hawaiian bread (it's dense and a tad dry, perfect for french toast) instead of wheat, drizzled a bit of syrup over top before adding strawberries, and didn't use pomegranate seeds.
Yum!
Happy Valentine's Day!
